GoFundMe for victims of fatal Collier I-75 crash reaches $12,000, here’s how to donate

After a car crash on I-75 took the lives of four young people and left an 16-year-old in critical condition, the local community banded together to help the affected family.

A GoFundMe campaign was started earlier this week to help the affected family pay for the victims’ funerals. GoFundMe is a crowdfunding platform.

The driver, 18-year-old Edwin Jenri Garcia Ramos, was pronounced dead at the scene along with two 19-year-old men, Luis and Yony Garcia. Another passenger, Karla Tol Martin, 21, died at a local hospital.

The last passenger, 16-year-old Jefry Garcia, is still in the hospital being treated for his serious injuries.

“These four individuals who are named below were very hard working and dedicated individuals who did not deserve this,” Jossie Macedo, a co-worker of the victims, wrote on the GoFundMe page.

The GoFundMe has received 115 donations ― totaling at $12,100 as of Sept. 19. More than $8,520 has been raised in the last two days.
