State Police “Operation STRIKE” leads to chases, arrests in New Orleans

Louisiana State Police have announced a pair of busts cops made as a part of a new initiative in New Orleans.

“While working in New Orleans East during Operation STRIKE, Troop NOLA Troopers were assisted by LSP Air Support, LSP Drones, and Slidell Police Department’s K-9 unit during two separate vehicle pursuits that led to significant discoveries,” LSP posted.

The first chase started with an attempt to pull over a car.

“Troopers attempted to stop a white Dodge Charger for a traffic violation, which resulted in a vehicle pursuit. After a short chase, the Charger ran off the roadway, and the driver fled on foot.”

The news release says they called in LSP Air Support and found the driver.

“Through the investigation, Troopers determined the Charger was stolen, and recovered a stolen firearm with a 50-round drum magazine, 35 grams of Fentanyl, and various amounts of Cocaine and Tramadol.”

In the second case, Troopers attempted to stop a black Infiniti for a traffic violation, sparking another vehicle pursuit.
