Gas station robbed at knifepoint in Asheville, suspect wanted

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WSPA) – Police are searching for a man who robbed an Asheville gas station at knifepoint Wednesday afternoon.

The robbery happened at a gas station on Smokey Park Highway around 4:45 p.m.

Asheville Police said a man entered the store, pulled out a knife, and demanded that the cash register be opened.

The man ran from the store after taking the cash from the register, according to police.

Investigators said the man is around 5’6 to 5’8″ tall and appeared to be in his early 20s wearing all black.
