Vermont man charged in connection with deaths of two western Massachusetts men

STOW, VT (WWLP) – An update on a story out of Vermont where two men from western Massachusetts were killed last fall after being reported missing.

A federal grand jury has returned an indictment charging 29-year-old Theodore Bland of Stowe, Vermont with conspiracy to distribute cocaine base, possession of cocaine base and fentanyl with intent to distribute, using and carrying a firearm in relation to a drug trafficking crime, and discharging that firearm during the commission of the offense.

According to court records, last October Bland used, carried, and discharged a gun in Vermont. the firearm discharges allegedly led to the deaths of 21-year-old Jahim Solomon of Pittsfield and 21-year-old Eric White of Chicopee.

Bland used social media messaging to communicate with his co-conspirators regarding, among other topics, the procurement of controlled substances for distribution, the pricing of controlled substances for sale to drug customers, and the distribution of controlled substances to drug customers. Bland also used social media messaging to communicate with his co-conspirators following the homicides of Solomon and White on October 12, 2023, including communications about his attempts to conceal the homicides.
