(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Pikes Peak Marathon and Ascent announced on Friday night, Sept. 20 there are no changes planned to the event due to impending weather, and the marathon is set to start right on time.

Many were waiting for the official update as weather forecasts predicted inches of snow on Pikes Peak and a cold and rainy weekend which could dampen the race. However, marathon organizers announced on Facebook at around 7:30 p.m. they were all set to start at 7 a.m.
