Student who brought two guns to Volcano Vista High School will remain in custody

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The 17-year-old accused of bringing two guns to Volcano Vista High School on Tuesday, September 17, will remain behind bars while awaiting trial.

APS Police say they found the student with two guns at Volcano Vista, one in his backpack and another in his vehicle. In a letter to parents, the principal said the student did not indicate he wanted to hurt himself or others. The student is now facing criminal charges. The District Attorney says a judge granted the request for pretrial detention.
