Some big changes arriving this weekend as summer tosses the keys to autumn

HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) – If you are tired of the summer heat and are hoping for those cooler fall temperatures to arrive soon, well, you are in luck. Some big changes are in store this weekend as summer hands the wheel over to autumn. We won’t see those changes just yet as we will have to deal with one more abnormally warm evening. A mid level disturbance moving through the area this evening will provide some instability for isolated strong to severe storms over southeast Nebraska. This is where there is a marginal risk for severe storms. Primary threats would be 60mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. This activity looks to stay south of Lincoln. However, no guarantee that a shower doesn’t sneak its way into the capital city toward the end of the Husker game after 9:00pm. Low temperatures tomorrow morning will dip back to between the upper 50s northwest to the lower 70s southeast. A cold front will be moving into northwest parts of the area by tomorrow morning.
