Hendersonville homeowner’s camera captures attempted home invasion

HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn (WKRN) — Sumner County deputies are working to identify the person that broke into a Somerset Downs home. The incident happened early Thursday morning.

The Sumner County Sheriff’s Office posted a video to their Facebook page showing the break-in.

In the video, the suspect is seen wearing a Spiderman pullover shirt, mask, and gloves. Deputies believe the suspect was seen checking vehicle and residential, garage doors.

“A homeowner saw on their live video feed someone approaching their house,” Sumner County Interim Sheriff Eric Craddock said. “They were looking through their doors, but luckily the homeowner was able to call the dispatch center and get a deputy in route pretty quickly.”

After speaking with several people who live in the neighborhood, the consensus was that the area is very safe. However, Craddock believes more and more of these types of crimes are happening.

He encourages all homeowner, regardless of neighborhood, to protect their property. Installing cameras on your home, locking your doors, and never leaving weapons in your car as a few examples of ways to protect your home.
