GoFundMe created for San Jose woman killed during ‘donuts’ stunt

(KRON) — The family of an 18-year-old woman who died when she fell out of a pick-up truck during a car stunt and then was struck by the same vehicle has created a GoFundMe to help cover expenses for the funeral arrangements.

Man arrested for 1987 San Jose strangulation homicide

On Sept. 13, Paulina Verduzco Mendoza, of Gilroy, was a passenger in a 2006 white Ford pick-up truck that was driving recklessly, doing ‘donuts’ in a parking lot, in the 14900 block of Camden Avenue, said the San Jose Police Department.

Police said Mendoza fell out of the vehicle and onto the pavement when the vehicle hit her. She was later pronounced dead at a local hospital.

Salvador Meldina, the victim’s uncle, and organizer of the fundraiser wrote on the GoFundMe page: “She was a truly cherished friend, daughter, cousin and sister who brought so much love and light into our lives. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. We are overwhelmed with all the love, support and prayers. Many of you have expressed wishes to help financially. We have set up this page for anyone who wishes to contribute to the family’s immediate needs.”
