Low return of Ship Creek Silver Salmon has big impacts

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) -The Silver Salmon barely returned to Anchorage’s Ship Creek this summer. The reason isn’t clear but the impacts are. In a normal summer between 2,000 and 2,500 Coho will make it past the sport fishers to the end of their run at the William Jack Hernandez Sport Fish Hatchery. This year, just under 400 Silvers have shown up so far.
