On December 28th, 2021, Jennifer “Akua” Howard-Black embarked on her second journey to Ghana with her daughter, who had just graduated college. What began as a celebration quickly became something more-a mission born from the rich culture and vibrant craftsmanship of West Africa. “I was deeply moved by the rich culture and craftsmanship of West Africa,” Akua shares. It was during this trip that Akua Imports was born, a venture that would bring a piece of that vibrancy back to the Sunshine City.
