On3 vice president and recruiting expert Steve Wiltfong logged an important prediction on Friday, forecasting that 2025 four-star interior offensive lineman Douglas Utu would flip from Tennessee to Oregon.
Utu, the fourth-ranked interior offensive lineman and 57th-ranked overall player according to On3’s industry ranking, committed to Tennessee on June 24. Now, according the Wiltfong, the 6-foot-4, 315-pounder from Bishop Gorman High School may be considering some other options.
Alongside Wiltfong, On3 Director of Recruiting Chad Simmons also logged the same prediction on Friday, prompting fans of both Tennessee and Oregon to begin lobbying for their next great offensive lineman.
As it stands, the Ducks have the No. 8 class of 2025 in the nation, while Tennessee sits at No. 7. A flip of Utu would almost certainly lift Oregon in front of the Volunteers, which makes his recruitment particularly pivotal moving forward.
