Albany man sentenced in shots fired case

ALBANY, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — An Albany has been sentenced in connection to a shots fired incident from February. Donta Blair, 25, was sentenced to 10 years in state prison with five years probation.

The indictment alleged that on February 13, Blair tried to both injure and kill someone near Robin and Orange Streets in Albany. He was also accused of having a defaced shotgun and cocaine at his home.

On July 26, Blair pleaded guilty to second-degree criminal possession of a weapon. The plea fully satisfied the original indictment, which also included second-degree attempted murder, first-degree attempted assault, three counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, and fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
