Pooler resident voices traffic and development concerns

POOLER, Ga (WSAV) – Pooler residents are voicing their concerns about the development that seems to never stop, and they want to know how the city plans to catch up to the rapid growth.

If you are not a stranger to Pooler, you have seen developments all over the place.

The Liliana are luxury apartments that are being built right off of Old Quacco Road and Pooler Parkway. The complex is planned to have a little over 300 units.

We spoke with Pooler resident Troy Frazier, and you can find him dodging city traffic by running errands mid-day. Frazier is dealing with the effects of living in a boom town.

“All the traffic with Tanger [Outlets] and it’s like totally differently now, totally different,” Frazier said. “They just keep adding more stuff”

It is an obstacle he has had to deal with since moving here around five years ago. He said Pooler Parkway and Old Quacco Road take the top spots when it comes to causing the most frustration getting from point A to point B.

“I am on dialysis,” Frazier explained. “My first dialysis appointment was off of [Highway] 17. I used to drive Old Quacco Road every day. But, the traffic started getting so bad and so heavy that I was I was not able to make my dialysis appointments on time. So, I had to change my dialysis unit”
