Ohio is home to three of the top 10 cities in America with the lowest rent prices, according to a new report.
Toledo, Akron and Dayton make the top 10 cities out of the 100 largest cities in the nation with the lowest rent prices for a single-family home, according to recently released Zillow data analyzed by QR Code Generator .
Toledo not only topped Ohio cities — but was ranked No. 1 in the nation with an average rent of $1,210.39.
What is rent in Toledo, Akron and Dayton?
Wichita, Kansas came in a close second at $1,250.77, followed by Akron at $1,359.67.
When it comes to housing costs, financial experts often advise people t not spend more than 30% of their income before taxes on rent.
With average Ohioans making $4,512.17 per month after taxes, rent in Toledo would fall under 30% of that income, according to Zillow. But rent in Akron would be right on the bubble, with 30.13% of their income going to rent.
In Dayton, rent would eat up 30.86% of an average earner’s income.
