BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A confrontation over a motorcycle prompted a shooting in Oildale last month that killed a woman and wounded another person, according to court filings.
The gunman kicked in a door, pulled a gun and demanded to know what happened to his bike, which he claimed had been stolen, according to sheriff’s reports filed in Superior Court.
Before he left, shots were fired and a woman, identified by family as Ruth Cummings, was mortally wounded.
Luis Villachana, 44, was arrested Sept. 7 and charged with first-degree murder and two counts of attempted murder, among other offenses.
Co-defendant Dallas Bradshaw, 29, faces burglary and conspiracy charges. It’s alleged she went to the home with Villachana.
Both defendants are being held without bail and have a preliminary hearing scheduled next month.

The events leading to the shooting began the morning of Aug. 29, when someone at a home on Olympic Drive traded a car for a “nice street bike” he saw his cousin riding, the reports say.
