Paul Finebaum Gives Update On Billy Napier’s Future At Florida

The pressure seems to be mounting on Florida Gators head coach Billy Napier, who is currently in year three as the program’s head coach but has yet to achieve a winning season.

There isn’t much hope 2024 will end the streak either. The Gators have started 1-2 and lost their two biggest games of the season to this point.

Paul Finebaum revealed on Saturday’s “SEC Nation” that Napier’s time at Florida could soon be coming to an end.

“The people with whom I speak to around college football have moved on from him,” Finebaum said. “They’re speculating on what comes next. That makes it very complicated for him. He’s still coaching. There are a lot of complexities in terms of the portal. Should he go sooner rather than later?”

However, Florida might be able to get things going this week. They are playing against the Mississippi State Bulldogs, a team that Finebaum dubbed the “worst” team in college football. A defeat could mark the start of Napier’s decline, but a victory could help generate momentum for the remainder of the season.
