Police: Missing Ashland girl found safe

ASHLAND, Va. — A missing 12-year-old Ashland girl was may have been spotted on a security camera Friday night was found safe Satuday morning, according to authorities.

Brianna Garland was reported missing on Saturday at 6 a.m., Maj. Marie Kemp with Ashland Police said.

Officers said the girl left home between 7:30 p.m. Friday and 3 a.m. Saturday.

Additionally, the child may have been seen on a residential camera at 10 p.m., Kemp said.

While foul play was not suspected, her family and police “are concerned for her well-being,” Kemp said.

Then just after 10 a.m. Saturday officials said Brianna was “found safe” at 9:15 a.m. and was reunited with her family.

“The Ashland Police Department would like to thank all news media outlets, the community for sharing the information and providing tips and the Hanover County Sheriff’s Office,” Kemp said.
