‘She didn’t deserve this’: Family of woman killed on Sixth Street begs community for answers

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A grieving family is pleading for answers after 63-year-old Myrtle Watson was killed in her Rochester home earlier this month.

Friday, News 8 learned new details from Watson’s family, who said she was stabbed multiple times.

“Please, we’re begging the community to help us. She didn’t deserve this. She didn’t deserve this,” a sister of Watson’s told News 8.

More often than not, 183 Sixth Street in Rochester was filled with music.

“Myrtle Watson traveled all over the world, being in bands, some with the SOS band out of Atlanta, Georgia. She was a celebrity,” Watson’s boyfriend Larry Mallory said.

Friends said Watson, known by those close to her as Pokie, was just like a second mother. They said she was always willing to help.

“She was very caring. She looked out for everyone. She let people stay with her. She fed them, let them take baths. She even prayed with them,” Myrtle’s sister Sharon Watson said.
