September 21, 2024 – Residents captured video of St. Petersburg stormwater crews dumping storage trucks full of what was purported to be sewage on social media into Riveria Bay from a boat ramp Sept. 20. Councilmember Brandi Gabbard, who represents the area, contacted staff and relayed that the pumping is allowed as the stormwater vacuumed from drains would have eventually made its way to the bay. The crew and equipment do not work on sewage or wastewater systems.
