No one hurt in Portage garage fire

PORTAGE, Mich. (WOOD) — No one was hurt when a Portage garage caught fire Saturday morning.

Around 7:10 a.m., fire crews with the Portage Department of Public Safety were sent to Edgefield Street near Jerry Lane for a fire.

Responding crews found a garage fully engulfed in flames. Crews quickly worked to extinguish the fire and were able to get it under control within 20 minutes.

PDPS said that everyone inside the home was able to evacuate before fire crews arrived, and no one was hurt.

It’s unclear what caused the fire. The Fire Marshal is investigating.
