Wisconsin Commit Shatters State’s All-Time Tackles Record

A 2025 Wisconsin football commit has marked his name in the Wisconsin high school football history books.

Germantown linebacker Cooper Catalano set the state record for the most career tackles in a win over Brookfield East on Friday night.

The record, which stood at 462, was previously shared by Edgar High School’s Andy Borchardt (2007-2009) and Black Hawk High School’s Brody Milz (2014-2017).

Catalano has been dominant throughout his high school career. Through his first three seasons, he notched over 120 tackles per year. In his junior year, Catalano logged seven games with over 15 tackles and multiple 20-tackle performances.

The Germantown High School standout committed to Wisconsin in November over offers from Illinois, Kansas, Iowa State, Minnesota, and Michigan State. He is currently ranked as the No. 872 player in the nation, the No. 88 LB, and the No. 7 player in Wisconsin. Catalano is one of two inside linebacker commits in Wisconsin’s 2025 class, along with La Cueva High School (NM) standout Mason Posa.
