Villanova student reportedly raped by Uber driver inside residence hall building

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A Villanova University student was reportedly raped by an Uber driver last weekend, according to a school spokesperson.

School officials say it happened overnight on Sept. 13 into the 14 inside The Commons residence hall complex. According to officials, the student reported that the Uber driver dropped her off outside her dorm before entering the building and assaulting her.

Our newsgathering partners at NBC10 say the university sent an alert to students Friday, informing them of the student’s report.

The accused driver has been identified and contacted by campus police and is banned from campus during the investigation.

The incident has been reported to Uber.
