Arch Manning Earns New Nickname After Texas’ Blowout Over Louisiana-Monroe

After Texas Longhorns’ quarterback Quinn Ewers went down with an injury in Week 3 against UTSA, he was replaced by former five-star recruit Arch Manning. Manning is the nephew of both Eli and Peyton Manning, giving him naturally high expectations.

That said, stepping in for Ewers, he more than exceeded expectations, throwing for four touchdowns and adding a 67 yard rushing touchdown displaying his speed. As Ewers was not 100% coming into Week 4, Manning was named the starter, giving him a chance to prove himself once again.

After an interception on his first drive, Manning looked really solid leading this Texas offense. Though he has weapons around him, he’s showing flashes of being a truly elite talent. At halftime of the Oklahoma-Tennessee game, after Manning threw two touchdowns in the first half of his, the announcer labeled him “The Future”.

It’s safe to say that this trend has caught on as fans on Twitter have also begun to call Manning, “The Future”, including a hint from the Longhorn’s official account.
