Couple pleads guilty for stealing thousands from Chical Haystack

NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – A married couple submitted their pleas for a federal crime case. They’re accused of stealing thousands from an Isleta Pueblo business.

Eva Hernandez and Frank Hernandez are accused of going to Chical Haystack and stealing funds.

Frank reportedly went inside the store to a restricted area and stole $7,275.50 in cash and a check for $3,134.80. Documents stated Eva stood watch while the money was stolen, and the pair fled after the crime.

Eva and Frank each face up to five years in prison. They also have to pay restitution to the business. Eva and Frank will be subjected to up to three years of supervised release after their time in prison.
