9-year-old shot in leg; Mobile Police say

UPDATE (9:40 p.m.) – The Mobile Police Department described the shooting that left a 9-year-old injured as a “drive-by shooting.”

MPD said shots were fired inside the home where the child was, in the 700 Block of Plum Street at around 7:45 p.m. Saturday night. The child was shot in the leg, according to MPD.

The child was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

PREVOUS REPORTING – MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) – Mobile Police confirmed that a 9-year-old was shot in the leg Saturday night.

The shooting happened in the 700 block of Plum Street at around 7:45 p.m.

Mobile Police said the child is facing non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital.

No word yet on any arrests.
