Defensive Guru Wink Martindale Breaks Silence With Four-Word Message After Michigan’s Big Win Vs. USC

Michigan Defensive Coordinator Wink Martindale helped lead the 18th-ranked Wolverines to a 27-24 upset over the 11th-ranked USC Trojans in Ann Arbor on Saturday as Michigan held the Trojans to just 96 yards rushing.

Martindale took to X after the game to share his thoughts on what transpired. Michigan overcame a 6.5 point spread earlier in the week that shrunk to 4.5 points in favor of the Trojans prior to the 3:30 p.m. ET contest.

“Great college football game,” Martindale said matter-of-factly in an X post on Saturday night.

Trojans QB Miller Moss threw for 283 yards and three touchdowns on the day, but a pick-six by Wolverines preseason All-American cornerback Will Johnson proved to be his biggest mistake.
