Packers Make Final Call on Starting QB vs. Titans

The Green Bay Packers are sticking with Malik Willis against the Tennessee Titans this weekend as starting QB Jordan Love continues to rehab a sprained MCL.

Love returned to practice mid-week and actually went through a session in pads in an attempt to come back just two games after suffering the knee injury Week 1 against the Philadelphia Eagles .

However, Willis was serviceable against the Indianapolis Colts in the Packers’ home opener last Sunday. That allowed the Green Bay coaching staff to play the long game and keep Love on the sideline for at least one more week.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Network broke the news that Willis would get the nod via an X post on Saturday night, September 21.

“The #Packers plan to start QB Malik Willis against the #Titans, with Jordan Love likely needing one more week of healing from his MCL sprain, per me and [Tom Pelissero],” Rapoport reported . “Love, who hasn’t been ruled out, was back at practice this week and could return vs. the [Minnesota] Vikings .”
