ESPN Refuses To Show Replay Of Gruesome Injury During SEC Clash

Auburn defensive back Champ Anthony was carted off the field Saturday after sustaining a serious leg injury against Arkansas.

Anthony delivered a massive hit on the play right before his injury, leveling Razorback wide receiver Andrew Armstrong so hard that his helmet flew off.

But on the next play Anthony injured his leg, with trainers quickly attending to him on the field. ESPN cut to commercial and opted not to show the replay, dubbing it “too gruesome.”

“ESPN won’t show the replay of Champ Anthony’s injury. That tells you everything you need to know ,” Andrew Hutchinson of Best Of Arkansas Sports wrote on X.

It appeared to be a non-contact injury for Anthony, who was trying to make a cut in coverage.

“Champ Anthony took a bad cut and snapped his shin Gordon Hayward style,” one fan said . “Saw it on the edge of my screen on YouTube TV.”

The entire Auburn team, along with Coach Hugh Freeze, gathered on the field as Anthony was carted off. The Auburn Football account on X shared a photo of Anthony wearing an air cast around his leg, yet somehow still managing a smile.
