I-81 north in Salina to be reduced to one lane

SALINA, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — The New York State Department of Transportation is alerting drivers of a lane closure coming up on Monday, Sept. 23.

The NYSDOT said Interstate 81 north will be closed down to only one lane between Exit 26 (Mattydale) and Exits 27-28 (Syracuse Airport Taft Road N. Syracuse) in the Town of Salina.

The lane reduction will be happening from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, Sept. 23, through Friday, Sept. 27, and is to facilitate bridge deck repairs.

The DOT also wants to remind drivers to slow down when driving through work zones and to always pay attention to all traffic control devices, including signs and flaggers.

Construction activities may change based on weather conditions.
