BALLSTON SPA, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — Sunday marks the first day of fall, but some spooky activities have already begun in Ballston Spa. The Double M Haunted Hayrides and Haunted Houses opened their doors Saturday night for the start of the spooky season.

Deep behind the ground’s haunted woods, through the tall rows of corn and underneath the thick darkness of the night, folks at the Double M Haunted Hayrides were in for a frightening surprise.
“Around every corner, you never know what’s coming to get you,” said Max Martin, the general manager of Double M Haunted Hayrides and Haunted Houses.
Max said this is something that they begin preparing for as soon as the snow starts to melt in the winter. It’s a nearly year-long process that he believes has become an upstate New York staple.
“We’ve become a tradition here in upstate New York, I know some people from out of state travel here now, we’re like a staple we have to be here,” said Max.
