Alabama Commit Keelon Russell Shows Out Friday Night

Keelon Russell, 2025 five-star quarterback and Alabama commit, showcased his skills on Friday night as Duncanville convincingly beat Waxahachie 42-17.

Per Recruits Bama , Russell completed 18 of his 23 passes for 351 and six touchdowns. The game stayed close for three quarters, but Russell’s performance could not go unnoticed.

A scary moment did occur in the game, according to The Dallas Morning News . Russell took a huge hit near the end of the third quarter, to which he would limp off the field and not see action for the rest of the game.

“I got hit and kind of got dizzy,” Russell said. “It’s nothing serious.”

When talking with media after their game, Russell made these additional comments .

“I played real good,” Russell said. “It was just being poised, believing in my receivers. I knew they were going to do their job. [Moore] had a heck of a game. The dude is a baller.”

Russell is set to be the quarterback of the future for Kalen DeBoer and Alabama once Jalen Milroe’s time is up. And after the summer he has had, and the hot start to his senior season in high school, there is much to be excited about for this young mans future.
