PARLIER, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – A man was found dead Friday morning in Parlier, and the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office has ruled it as a homicide investigation.
Deputies received a call at around 6:30 Friday morning about a man who was injured, lying in his yard on South Zediker Avenue, South of Adams Avenue in Parlier.
Deputies found 63-year-old Silvino Serrano dead at the scene. Investigators eventually discovered he suffered trauma.
Dead body found in Fresno County yard
“At first we thought it was a suspicious death until we took a closer look and got our deputy coroners involved. They found other signs or injuries that pointed toward this being a homicide,” Tony Botti with the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office said.
Tony Botti says Serrano was a father who worked as a farmworker.
“He was a farm worker. He was scheduled to go to work in the morning. Of course, he never showed up. He’s a father, he’s a husband, he’s a total innocent victim in this situation,” Botti said.
He says Serrano’s coworker was worried when Serrano never came to pick him up.
