Scott Cohen , whom many fans will recognize as the character Max Medina in Gilmore Girls , among other prominent roles, revealed that he and his wife were unsure if they would make it after a car crash earlier this summer.
While the crash occurred in late June, resulting in him and wife Anastasia Traina being hospitalized with serious injuries, the actor was able to attend the New York City premiere of The Penguin , which he appears in, on Sept. 17.
“We thought we were dead,” he told Page Six at the event. “My wife’s arm is all messed up. I have a broken sternum, which is supposed to be never-healing. It’s like called a nonunion break, and it’s never going to heal.”
The crash occurred on June 29, as reported by the Astoria Post , after a man who was pulled over for a routine traffic stop drove off, starting a car chase that ended in Brooklyn when the driver drove head-on into Cohen’s vehicle.
The perpetrator then got out and ran off as his car burst into flames, firing a gun at a pursuing officer before jumping a fence and evading arrest. It’s unclear if he was eventually apprehended or not.
