Man pleads guilty in scam against elderly Norfolk couple

NORFOLK, Va. – A man has pleaded guilty to two felony fraud charges after participating in a scam against an elderly couple last year. Daylan Kiree Bates, 24, pleaded guilty on Tuesday to the charges. The Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office in Norfolk said he participated in a banking scam last year in which he transferred thousands of dollars from an elderly couple’s bank account into his own.
