PORTLAND, Ore. ( KOIN ) – A recent study ranked the top 80 pizza cities in the United States — crowning Portland among the best in the nation.
The study, published Monday by digital signage company Mandoe , analyzed pizza ratings, the number of pizzerias the cities had to offer, and the number of Google searches for pizza per 100,000 or population.
Seattle, Washington nabbed the number one spot as the best pizza city in the U.S. as “an unexpected slice of heaven,” Mandoe said.

Across the Columbia, Portland was ranked the third best pizza city in the U.S., scoring high marks for consumer interest in pizza, options for pizza places, and for “crafting its own pizza identity.”

The city’s pizza landscape is characterized by an emphasis on locally-sourced, often organic ingredients, reflecting the broader farm-to-table movement that Portland has long championed,” Mandoe explained. “Portland’s pizza scene embodies the city’s larger culinary ethos: a commitment to quality, sustainability, and thinking outside the box.”
