Delicious Beef Fried Rice: Recipe & Tips

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups cooked white rice (preferably day-old)
  • 200g beef (flank steak or sirloin), thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 cup mixed vegetables (carrots, peas, bell peppers)
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Green onions and sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Marinate the Beef:
    • In a bowl, combine the beef slices with 1 tablespoon of soy sauce and a pinch of salt. Let it marinate for about 15 minutes.
  2. Prepare the Sauce:
    • In a small bowl, mix the remaining soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sesame oil. Set aside.
  3. Cook the Eggs:
    • Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add a little vegetable oil and pour in the beaten eggs. Scramble until just cooked, then remove from the pan and set aside.
  4. Stir-Fry the Beef:
    • In the same skillet, add a bit more oil if needed and stir-fry the marinated beef until it’s browned and cooked through. Remove from the pan and set aside.

    • Add the cooked rice to the skillet, breaking up any clumps. Stir-fry for a few minutes until the rice is heated through. Return the cooked eggs and beef to the pan, and pour in the sauce mixture. Stir everything together until well combined and heated through.
