Cincinnati Reds’ Potential Manager Replacement Emerges

With the 2024 MLB regular season coming to an end, the Cincinnati Reds decided to fire manager David Bell on Sunday night.

Bell’s time with the Reds ended on Sunday as they lost to the Pittsburgh Pirates, 2-0, and he finishes with a combined record of 409-456.

Suddenly, the Reds are in front of the rest of the league as they begin their replacement for a new manager.

Shortly after Bell was fired, one option emerged as Bob Nightengale mentioned current Miami Marlins manager Skip Schumaker.

“Miami Marlins manager Skip Schumaker is on the Reds’ radar for potential replacement for David Bell, who’s fired Sunday night,” Nightengale wrote on X.

Schumaker spent four seasons on the San Diego Padres staff as a first-base coach and then associate manager.

After that, he spent one year with the St. Louis Cardinals, where he had the most success during his playing days.
