New Mexico man accused of stabbing victim multiple times at UNM housing complex

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A Santa Fe man is facing charges after police claimed he stabbed someone at a UNM student housing complex overnight.

According to the criminal complaint, the victim told police he ran into a woman by accident and her boyfriend got upset.

Police said the two got in a fight, which ended with the victim being stabbed in the back 10 times. Police reported the suspect was identified as 19-year-old Pedro Sanchez.

Sanchez was arrested a short time later and booked into Metropolitan Detention Center. He is facing an aggravated battery with a deadly weapon charge.
