The Bonita Springs Downtown Alliance recently announced a candidates’ forum and meet and greet at 5 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 23, for candidates running for mayor and City Council. The event will be held at the Bonita Springs Lions Club, located at 10322 Pennsylvania Ave, Bonita Springs and is open to the public. Schedule: District 2 and District 6 Candidates: 5 p.m. until 5:45 p.m.; Mayoral candidates: 6 p.m. until 7. This forum offers an opportunity for community members to hear directly from candidates about their visions for the future of Bonita Springs and their respective districts. The public can submit questions when registering at the door. There is no cost to attend. Candidates running for Bonita Springs mayor: Derrick Botana, Ruth Condit, Mike Gibson and Rick Steinmeyer. Candidates running for Bonita Springs City Council, District 2: Jesse Purdon and Zach Smith; District 6: Jim Fitzpatrick and Carolyn Forbes.
