Join the fight against hunger at the Lowcountry Food Bank’s Walk on Sunday

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – On Sunday, September 22, the Lowcountry Food Bank will host its 4th Annual Walk to Fight Hunger at Wannamaker Park in North Charleston.

The family-friendly event aims to raise awareness about hunger issues in coastal South Carolina and support vital food bank programs such as Senior Meals, Childhood Hunger programs, and increased access to fresh produce for the community.

Presented by Parker’s Kitchen, the event encourages individuals, companies, civic groups, schools, and churches to form fundraising walk teams and come together to support the cause. All funds raised will go toward Lowcountry Food Bank’s mission of ensuring equitable, dignified, and consistent access to food across South Carolina’s ten coastal counties.

Participants can enjoy a 5k walk, a 1-mile fun-loop walk, a scavenger hunt, music, and more. Event registration is free, though there is a $2 entrance fee per person for Wannamaker Park (free with a Gold Pass).
