Falcons Fail on 4th Down, Fall to Chiefs

SEPT 22 BUCS HELP Tampa Bay didn’t get the job done against lowly Denver in NFL Week 3 in a 26-7 loss. But luckily for the Bucs, neither did the Falcons or the Saints.

In Atlanta, a Chiefs’ fourth-and-1 defensive stop preserved what would become a 22-17 Falcons loss. That drops Atlanta to 2-1. The high-flying Saints were also at home today but they lost to the Eagles, 15-12. So they are also 2-1.

And of course the Bucs’ stunning loss puts them at 2-1 as well. So the NFC South – in large part thanks to a big Chiefs defensive play – is as balanced as expected!

SEPT 22 BYE BRYCE? Are the Carolina Panthers already ready to give up on quarterback Bryce Young?

Young’s presence is in doubt as he’s been benched by Panthers head coach Dave Canales – the former Bucs coordinator – in favor of Andy Dalton. The move comes amid an 0-2 … and Young, the former No. 1 overall pick out of Alabama, has been awful.

And so now come reports that the phone calls are rolling in.

“Several teams have expressed an interest in trading for quarterback Bryce Young, despite the fact coach Dave Canales said the Carolina Panthers do not intend to trade the former No. 1 overall pick, league sources told ESPN,” Schefter wrote.
