Houston Police Fatally Shoot Armed Suspect in Sunnyside, Second Gunshot Victim Found Nearby

Early this morning, an officer-involved shooting in Houston’s Sunnyside neighborhood left one man dead after he reportedly fired upon police. KHOU reports that around 2:30 a.m., Houston police were responding to a call when they heard gunfire in the area of Corskie Street. When they investigated, they found a vehicle with a broken window and a man nearby who, according to HPD Assistant Chief Yasar Bashir, “pulled out a gun and fired at officers.” KHOU states that the officers shot back, fatally wounding the man.
