SHREVEPORT, La. – You may be too young to remember 1963, but the force of what happened 61 years ago today is still very much a part of our lives. Just as the country feels diametrically divided over politics today, in the 1960’s skin color was the dividing line. It was the civil rights movement and Shreveport found itself at the heart of the conflict.
