SUMMIT, NJ — A report of a burglary at a residence on Woodfern Road took place on Saturday, at approximately 9:55 p.m., according to the Summit Police Department.
According to police, the homeowner said the house had been vacant from approximately 4:41 p.m. to 9:50 p.m. Upon returning home, the resident indicated she observed several things out of place which prompted her to call the police. Officers arrived on scene shortly thereafter and immediately cleared the residence.

The Union County Sheriff’s Crime Scene Unit was then dispatched to process the house. Initial investigation revealed the point of entry was a glass door at the rear of the residence, which was broken by the perpetrator(s). At this time, it is known that one scarf valued at approximately $500 and an unknown amount of jewelry were taken.
