Students “astonished” in D.C. on Arkansas MLK commission ‘Dream Keepers Tour’

WASHINGTON D.C. – Leading up to the unveiling of the Johnny Cash statue ceremony at the U.S. Capitol on Tuesday, an Arkansas group is making sure a group of students is enjoying the city while learning history.

The Arkansas Martin Luther King Jr. Commission took several students from different school districts around the state as part of its Dream Keeper Tour.

Gabbi Wynne, Rivercrest School District says she was amazed by D.C. and several of the museums she went to.

“I felt like I could sit there for hours and still never get bored of it,” Wynne said.

Hayden Rabuen, a student at White Hall School District says after going to the National Museum of Natural History it was more than what he imagined.

“It was just astounding to see how huge everything was,” Rabuen said.

While other students like Makya Terry who goes to Watson Chapel School District says her favorite moment was at the Museum of African American History and Culture.
