Meghan said, ‘I Was Still So Uncomfortable Being Out in the World’

Meghan Markle recently opened up about where she found “safety” in the past.

Prince Harry’s wife Meghan Markle secretly traveled to New York City in 2019 in search of the “safety” she needed. Notably, at the time, Meghan and Prince Harry held senior royal positions. She nevertheless took issue with the media attention that accompanied the title.

According to media reports, the Duchess of Sussex went incognito for her NYC trip to watch Serena Williams play in the US Open.

Before anybody could guess that she had arrived in town, she went for a stroll to a bookstore. The 43-year-old Duchess of Sussex said to the assembly, “For me, sneaking to New York five years ago was a big deal,” explaining how she wore a cap and kept her head down. The safety of what I was craving, I knew I could find in a bookstore, but I still felt very uncomfortable being in public.

Meghan gave a speech during the first weekend of Godmothers, a bookstore founded by Victoria Jackson, the mogul of cosmetics, and literary agent Jennifer Rudolph Walsh. Numerous other celebrities were present at the celebrations. Oprah Winfrey, Ellen DeGeneres, Portia de Rossi, Ted Sarandos, the CEO of Netflix, and Jane Lynch, are some of them, along with Meghan and Harry.
