‘Get yourself help’: Domestic violence calls draw intrusions from outsiders

FRESNO, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – Two domestic violence cases were reported in Fresno County over the weekend where other people came to the aid of the alleged victims.

One incident happened at around 9 a.m. on Sunday .

Fresno Police officers responded to Van Ness and Alhambra avenues in the Tower District for a reported stabbing victim.

According to Lt. Steve Card, the incident started with a fight between a man and a woman.

“It did appear to be a domestic-related argument. I’m not sure what their status is, but they appeared to be a couple involved in an argument,” explained Lt. Steve Card.  “This drew the attention of two male subjects who approached the male victim and the female and confronted the male about arguing with the female. One of the male suspects produced what we believe to be a pocketknife and slashed the victim several times, resulting in injuries.”

The man attacked with a knife was hospitalized and treated for the wounds. He and the woman in this case are cooperating with the investigation.
