Pennsylvania’s adjutant general announced on Monday he will be retiring from his Cabinet post on Oct. 1. Maj. Gen. Mark Schindler has spent nearly the past four decades serving with the Pennsylvania National Guard. He was nominated by Gov. Josh Shapiro to serve as head of the state Department of Military and Veterans Affairs last year.
