Columbus police arrest three individuals on charges ranging from burglary to battery

COLUMBUS, Ga. ( WRBL ) — The Columbus Police Department arrested three people on various charges last Wednesday on Sept. 18.

The warrant-roundup operation was conducted by the department’s fugitive unit. Police say it targeted “high crime areas, leading to the apprehension of dangerous fugitives.”

According to CPD, the following people were arrested and charged.

  • Forty-six-year-old Esa G. Brooks:
    Battery
    Aggravated assault
  • Fifty-five-year-old James H. Smith:
    Burglary
  • Thirty-one-year-old Lend Linson:
    Third degree cruelty to children (three warrants)
    Aggravated assault (two warrants)
    Terroristic threats (five warrants)
    Convicted felon in possession of a firearm
    Battery (two warrants)
    Burglary
    Second degree criminal damage to property
    Possession of firearm during crime (two warrants)
    Pointing a gun
    Additional charges include obstruction and possession of firearm by convicted felon

A Ruger EC9, 9mm firearm was seized.
